The
Costa Brava…
Costa Brava means “wild coast”; it is part of the
Catalonia region. The strip of coast, about 250 km in length, stretches
north of Barcelona and features fine sandy beaches, idyllic small bays,
and bizarre rock formations. The interior is hilly or mountainous with
lush vegetation.
The
town of Rosas…
With a population of approximately 3,500, Rosas has become a tourist
centre while still keeping some of the character of an early fishing
village. The hotel “El Berganti” is 3 km from the
downtown core on the small bay of “Canyelles”, only
100 meters from the beach.

Beach
The beach is very safe because it
is located on a protected bay. Paddle boats and deck chairs are
available for rent. Water skiing is also offered, among other things.
When the wind is high, the small beach below the hotel "Vista-Bella" is
more suitable for sunbathing.
From the Canyellas beach (starting at the “Beach
Club”), a narrow road leads to the next large bay of
"Almadraba" directly along the water below the hotel "Vista-Bella".
This road is great for walking, even at night.
Mail
Stamps are available at a nearby store and mail can also be sent out
from there. In Rosas, the post office is located on the main street
towards Figueras (approx. 400 metres from the central plaza near the
hotel “Mar y Sol”. The post office is open from
9:00am to 2:00pm.
Bus
service
Bus service is available between Canyellas and Rosas. The bus runs
approximately once an hour. The schedule changes frequently. Therefore
you should inquire as to the current schedule (posted at the bus stop).
Shopping
There is a small supermarket near the resort hotel; it carries anything
you might need while on vacation: Groceries, beverages, personal care
items…
Rosas has a large pedestrian zone, which is especially inviting for a
stroll in the evening.

activities
Various leisure activities are
offered:
Minigolf
Rosas has several mini golf courses which are easy to reach with the
beach bus from Canyelles.
Go-Carts
There are two go-cart courses near Rosas. One of them is located in
Ampuriabrava, right next to the airport; the other one is next to the
road to Cadaques.
As expected, the costs are relatively high.
Hiking in the Pyrenees:
A small excursion into the mountains is definitely worth your while.
